Morning After Pill

The Morning After Pill (also known as:  MAP, Day-After Pill, Plan B, Plan B One Step ®, or emergency contraception), is a medication that is supposed to prevent the release of an egg by the woman, thus preventing the conception of a baby.  It does not seem to interfere with a pregnancy that has already implanted in the uterus like the “abortion pill” (RU-486 or mifepristone) does.

Women should take these and other facts into consideration before taking medications such as the MAP. Feel free to call the Pregnancy Counseling Center to speak with someone from our medical staff who would be glad to inform you of side effects and answer your questions. 818.895.2500
